The explorers also competed at the South Carolina Fire-Rescue Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC. The first competition was dressing out in full Protective Clothing Equipment, including SCBA and mask. The second competition was hose deployment. For hose deployment explorers had to dress out in gear and hook up one side of a 3 inch hose to a hydrant and the other to a gated wye, hook two 1 3/4 inch hose to the gated wye and put a nozzle on each hose and cross the finish line. The Boiling Springs Fire District Explorers came back from the competition with 1st Place in Hose Deployment!
